Privacy policy
We collect as little as possible: aggregate traffic data, and whatever you choose to send us by email. No accounts, no newsletter tracking pixels, no selling of personal data.
1. What we collect
- Server and analytics data — page views, referrer, approximate country, device type and browser. Aggregated; not used to identify individuals.
- Email correspondence — if you write to us, we keep the message and your address in order to reply.
- Affiliate click data — when you click a product link, the retailer or network may set a cookie to attribute a possible purchase. That tracking is controlled by them, not us.
We do not run user accounts, and we do not ask you to register to read anything.
2. Cookies
This site itself sets no advertising cookies. Affiliate networks and retailers may set cookies after you click through, typically for 24 hours to 30 days, so a purchase can be attributed. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser does not break the site — it only means a purchase may not be attributed to us.
3. Analytics
We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which articles are read. We do not build profiles, do not track you across other websites, and do not combine analytics data with any other information.
4. How long we keep data
- Aggregate analytics: retained in summary form, no personal identifiers.
- Email correspondence: kept while the issue is open, then up to 24 months for reference.
- Affiliate records: held by the networks, subject to their own retention policies.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to processing, or to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email us via the contact page and we will respond within 30 days.
Under GDPR you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Under CCPA/CPRA, California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information we hold.
6. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. International transfers
Our hosting and analytics providers may process data outside your country. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
8. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the update date below changes and the nature of the change is noted here. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance.
9. Contact
Privacy questions: use the address on the contact page, with "Privacy" in the subject line.
